Explore Mongolia tour may offer you the opportunity to travel across most populated cities to the inhabited part of the country, picturesque meadow of the central region to eye grazing vast steppe of Gobi desert. Besides natural exploring beauty, you can experience the culture and daily lifestyle of nomads who lived in different parts of Mongolia.

Day 1. Ulaanbaatar

In the morning arrive into Ulaanbaatar. On arrival at Chinggis Khaan International Airport, we will meet our local guide, who will escort us throughout our tour of Mongolia. After checking the hotel for a rest/shower before commencing at midday a walking tour of the central city. This walking tour will include the Lenin Statue, Sukhbaatar Square, the National Museum of Mongolian History, Choijin Lama Temple and a performance from the Mongolian Song and Dance Ensemble.

Day 2. Amarbayasgalant Monastery

Head to the Amarbayasgalant Monastery, one of the four great monasteries of Mongolia and the most important northern monastery. Amarbayasgalant is a fantastic example of Buddhist architecture – no single nail is used in its construction. Overnight at ger camp.

Day 3. Erdenet City and Uran Togoo Mountain

This morning visits the Erdenet Copper Mine, which is the largest factory in Mongolia and one of the largest copper and molybdenum enrichment factories in the world. Erdenet city was established in the 1970s to mine the rich deposits in the region. After lunch in a local restaurant, drive to Urantogoo Tulga Mountain, a nature reserve in Bulgan Aimag. The night will be spent here in the Unit Ger Camp.

Day 4. Khorgo National Park

Departing our Ger Camp today depart Bulgan Aimag and head across parts of central Mongolia’s green plateau, passing through southern Khovsgol Aimag into Arkhangai Aimag. Our destination is Terhiin Tsagaan Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in Mongolia, surrounded by extinct volcanoes. The lake, sitting at an altitude of 2,060 metres and over 300 square kilometres in size, is renowned for its fish and birdlife. The night will be spent here in the Khorgo Ger Camp on the northern lakeshore.

Day 5. Uliastai Town

Pushing further east we will drive to Zavkhan Aimag, bound for the provincial capital, Uliastai. Uliastau is a pleasant and quiet town and is surrounded by mountains. Here, one of the most remote “cities” in Mongolia we will have time to explore, including a visit to the History Museum. The night will be spent in a hotel (basic) in Uliastai.

Day 6. Altai Town

Departing south from Uliastai head into Gov-Altai, considered the westernmost of the Gobi provinces. The landscape will change as we head into this dry and mountainous region, on the fringes of the Altai Mountains. Our destination is the provincial capital, Altai, nestled between Mt. Khasagt Khairkhan (3579m) and Mt. Jargalant (3070m). Altai is a pleasant tree-lined place, with an interesting museum and well-stocked market. There will be time to explore Altai before transferring to a Ger Camp outside the city for an overnight stay.

Day 7. Mt.Eej Khairkhan

This morning head south to Eej Khairkhan Mountain. This 2275m peak is a sacred mountain of great importance to Mongolians and is located just north of the “Gobi A” national park inside its nature reserve. Here explore the area, with options to walk and visit the rock pools and caves, which home well-preserved rock paintings. The nine green-framed stone pots, which are set aside the deep rocky strip near the solitary mountain, cut off the Gobi Middle Mountains, on the western side of Eej Khairkhan Mountain very much attract the interests of nature lovers and conservators. When the first pot is filled up, it creates a little waterfall by spilling its excess water to the next pot through the stone threshold, which is 40-50 cm long. overnight at tented camping.

Day 8. Eej Khairkhan – Bayan Tooroi

In the morning we will explore the natural beauty of Mt. Eej khairkhan and other natural monuments in the area.
After lunch continues our journey to Bayan tooroi oasis in the middle of Bobi desert. We will drive through the raged land of desert and remote Blue Mountains of Altai. Overnight at tented camping.

Day 9. Gobi Camel Camp

Today is a long day driving through remote parts of the Gobi Desert to Bayankhongor province. In the evening we are arriving at Gobi Camel Ger Camp, which is situated between the spectacular mountains of the 3,957m Mt. Ikh Bogd and 3,590m Baga Bogd on the northern edge of the Gobi Desert. These two beautiful mountains connect with each other as part of the Western Altai range and are the highest peaks in the Gobi Desert.

Day 10. Tsagaan Agui and Rock Paintings

Today spend the entire day touring the area of the ancient human trace. We drive to visit the White Cave formed with crystal rock. It is about 40m long and its height reaches to 5-6 m at some part. Inside the cave continues to narrow channels. Just a few years ago the archaeologists have found interesting discoveries from this cave that proved that some seven hundred thousand years ago the White cave was a shelter to people 750.000 years before. And discover the rock painting site named Bichigt Khad from Bronze Age The night will be spent back at the same Ger Camp.

Day 11. Bayankhongor Town

In the morning leave camp for the Bayankhobgor town. On the way, we will visit Elsen gezeg sand dune on the side of Orog Lake. Arrive in Bayankhongor town and visit the local museum which has a rich collection of ethnographic and paleontological exhibits. Overnight at a local hotel.

Day 12. Khujirt Village

Drive to Khujirt village of Ovorkhangai province. Visit Tuvkhun monastery which was art studio of Zanabazar the first reincarnate lama of Mongolian Buddhism. Visit Khujirt hot spa site founded 1750meters above sea level and has a number of mineral components such as bicarbonate, carbonate, sodium and sulphured hydrogen which are used for treating envious and spinal pain. Overnight at ger camp.

Day 13. Kharkhorum

Drive to Kharkhorum, the ancient capital city of Mongolia, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Mongolia. Kharkhorum was established around 1220 and was briefly Mongolia’s capital until 1241. On arrival in Kharkhorum visit the Erdenezuu Monastery. The first Buddhist monastery, Erdenezuu, was built on the ruins of Kharkhorum in 1586 on the orders of Abtai Sain Khan, a distant but powerful relative of Chinggis Khaan. Stone monuments, bricks and many other building materials from the ruins of Karakorum were used in the construction of the monastery. The monastery occupies 1,600 square meters, an area exactly 10 times smaller than the original city; the monastery is surrounded by a stone wall with 108 stupas (Buddhist shrines) and four gates. The Erdenezuu monastery preserves works made by Mongolian artisans, painters, sculptors, embroiderers and craftsmen from 17-19th centuries. Overnight in ger camp near Orkhon River.

Day 14. Ulaanbaatar

Today we leave the countryside behind as our journey through rural Mongolia comes to an end. Driving via the Bayangobi sand dunes we will reach Hugnukhaan Mountain. We will have time to explore this attractive granite mountain, and have an opportunity to ride horses here also. After lunch near Hungkhaan Mountain drive to Ulaanbaatar. Arriving back into the capital return to the Ulaanbaatar. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 15. Departure

This morning check out of the hotel and transfer to Chinggis Khaan International Airport for departure flight.
