This tour itinerary is ideal for everyone who wants to discover the Mongolian Gobi Desert, its beauty, and the central region which is witnessed the most important historic event of Ancient Mongolia. Camel riding through Gobi dunes, visiting local nomadic families, camel riding along dunes, and visiting historic sites will be a wonderful experience of your life. Day 1. Ulaanbaatar
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar meets our guide and driver. Transfer to hotel and check-in. In the afternoon short city tour in Ulaanbaatar city: visit Sukhbaatar Square, Chinggis Khaan monument, National Museum of Mongolian History, and visit Zaisan Memorial for Panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2. Kharkhorum
Today we will drive towards Kharkhorum, the ancient capital of Mongolia. There is a small local town there now. Visit Erdenezuu the first Buddhist Monastery in Mongolia. The Monastery was built in 1586 on the ruin of the Kharkhorum. Only a few temples remain standing after the communist purges in the 1930s. By the beginning, if the 20th-century monastery was consist of 60 temples with 10,000 lamas held a religious ceremony. Overnight at a tented camp nearby Orkhon River.
Day 3. GaridynKhad
Continue the drive to GaridynKhad cliff which is located on the eastern edge of Khangai Mountains. Overnight at tented camping.
Day4. Orog Lake/Elsengezeg
After a relaxing morning at the camp, we will drive towards Lake Orog which lies on the north side of the Ikh Bogd Mountain range. The Lake’s shore is a bird paradise. We will camp overnight in the middle of Elsengezeg small sand dunes along the lake shore.
Day 5. White Cave/ Bichigtkhad
Drives to Bichig Khad, literally Stone with inscriptions, are located in the Bayan range of Bayanlig which have been dated to 3, 000 years and are considered sacred. While the animal drawings here also provide evidence that Mongolians have been farmed and domesticated animals. Continue the tour to White Cave, which is located in Bayanlig soum and is home to numerous ancient cave drawings. The inside of the cave is also decorated with crystals and painting is dated from 750.000 years. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 6. Khongor Sand Dune
Drive to Khongor sand dune well known as Singing Dune. Khongor sand dune is one of the biggest sand dunes of Mongolia. It has an extraordinary length of approximate 100kms and 12 kilometres wide. There is an oasis near a river Khongor at the northern edge of the sand dunes. Overnight at tented camping.
Day 7. Camel trek day
Relax at the camp in the morning afternoon Camel trekking along Duut Mankhan, Oasis and visit local camel herder family.
Day 8. Bayanzag, Flaming Cliffs
Drive to Bayanzag, known as Flaming Cliffs. Bayanzag is an important site for both archaeological and paleontological findings. Complete dinosaur skeletons and eggs are excavated from red cliffs, which look like fire. American explorer Roy Chapman Andrew had discovered this area in early 20 century and getting famous all over the world. If you see carefully, you could find a piece of bone or dinosaur egg. In the afternoon, short hiking Gobi tree-saxaul forest. Overnight at ger camp.
Day 9. Yoliin Am
Drive head to Yoliin Am along Gobi Altai Mountains. Visit Eagle valley well known as Yoliin Am that located in Gobi Gurvan Saikhan national park and have a chance to see wild animals such as wild sheep, ibex, golden eagle and of course vultures. Overnight at ger camp.
Day 10. Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast, take a flight to Ulaanbaatar from Dalanzadgad the central town of South Gobi. Visit Bogd Khaan Winter Palace Museum and shopping opportunity along with cashmere or souvenir shops. In the evening enjoy Mongolian Folk art performance. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11. Departure
Check out hotel and transfer to airport or train station. Tour ends.
