·   Foreign nationals who wish to visit Mongolia must obtain visas of appropriate types corresponding to their visit purposes. Citizens of those countries which have concluded visa exemption agreements with Mongolia are not required to obtain Mongolian visas if the intended period of the visit is not beyond the allowed period. See the below table for the list of visa-free countries. Citizens those 37 countries can apply for e-visa to travel to Mongolia. 

·      To apply for a Mongolian visa, you must submit your visa application at a Mongolian diplomatic mission (Embassy/Consulate). Location and contact information of the diplomatic missions can be found at Mongolian Embassies Important notice: If your intended stay in Mongolia is longer than the allowed period, you must apply for an appropriate type of visa before arriving in Mongolia.

·      1. Tourist visa/Travel Visa

The following documents are required to get a tourist visa to Mongolia:

- Completed application form)

- Passport in original (must be valid for a minimum of six months before your intended travel to Mongolia)
- 3.5x4.5cm photo (the size of the photo is mandatory)

- A copy of hotel booking or accommodation information in Mongolia

- A copy of flight/train tickets

- Proof of sufficient funds, i.e. bank statements for the recent six months (if necessary)

- The visa fee is to be paid upon submission of application. The fee is non-refundable.
Important notice: Visa officer may require you to submit additional documents in order to prove the purpose of your visit. A regular tourist visa allows you to stay up to 30 days in Mongolia. You can extend your duration further 30 days, providing the required documents to the Immigration Agency of Mongolia 4 days before your visa expiration.

2. Other Types of Visas (Business, employment, student etc)

The following documents are required to get a business/employment/student visa to Mongolia:

- Completed application form

- Passport in original (must be valid for a minimum of six months before your intended travel to Mongolia)

- 3.5x4.5cm photo (the size of the photo is mandatory)

- Approval by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Applies only to visitors traveling for business or non-governmental organization purposes)

- Approval by the Immigration Agency (Applies to all other types of visa, including employment, student)

- The visa fee is to be paid upon submission of application. The fee is non-refundable
Notice: Visitors coming to Mongolia for purposes other than tourism are advised to contact the appropriate Mongolian diplomatic mission for more information.

3. Official/Diplomatic Visa

The following documents are required to get am official/diplomatic visa to Mongolia:

- Completed application form

- Passport in original (must be valid for a minimum of six months before your intended travel to Mongolia)

- 3.5x4.5cm photo (the size of the photo is mandatory)

- Official request by the sending authority or Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Foreign diplomatic missions

- Visa fee may be waived depending on the purpose of the visit

Visa Upon Arrival in Mongolia

Those who do not have a Mongolian Mission (Embassy/Consulate ) in their country or area of residence can obtain a Mongolian visa upon arrival at the Mongolian border. Required documents:

- Official invitation letter of a certified tour operator approved by the Mongolian Immigration Agency. View Mongolia is a certified tour operator. The invitation letter must be approved 14 days prior to the entry of the traveler.

- Invitation letter fee should pay to the tour operator

- Return air/train tickets

- Tour itinerary

- Visa fee should be paid upon arrival

- 2 passport sized photos needed upon arrival

- Valid passport (must be valid for a minimum of six months before your intended travel to Mongolia)
